Our Hozhoni Ambassadors are student representatives for the entire student body of Fort Lewis College, centered on empowering the Indigenous/Native American student population. The Hozhoni Ambassador is a gender-neutral position - open to all currently enrolled Fort Lewis College students with a demonstrated commitment to Indigenous community, culture, and student leadership.
Role of the Hozhoni Ambassadors:
- Maintain a relationship with Wanbli Ota in regard to the Powwow
- Attend and/or implement two events per semester that further your platform
- Engage with Indigenous Peoples' Day events on campus
- Speak at the Orientation Welcome and Commencement ceremonies in fall and spring
- Attend regular Hozhoni Ambassador meetings with Hozhoni Ambassador Committee during term
- Attend and participate in the Hozhoni Days Powwow
