Donors gather for the first meeting of the Rim Trail Society

On October 7, 2016, the Rim Trail Society gathered for the first time, hosted by the Board of Trustees at the home of President Dene and Gordon Thomas. The Society, composed of donors over the $1,000 level, enjoyed appetizers and drinks while chatting about the future of Fort Lewis College. Here's a quick look at the evening! 

Skyhawk cyclist saddles up for Team USA

Durango and Fort Lewis College are nearly synonymous with world-class mountain biking. This year, a Durango-native 鶹Ѹשalumnus embodied that excellence at the Rio Olympics. Howard Grotts (Mathematics, ’14) won national championships as a junior, which he says put him on USA Cycling’s radar.

On the second Monday in October, Fort Lewis College will celebrate not Christopher Columbus, but those residents who were already at home in the so-called New World when the Genoan explorer, sailing under the Spanish flag, stumbled ashore in 1492.

Business alumna carves her own rock star dream job

Imagine leaving your consistent full-time job to jump on a tour bus with a rock band for the first time. You’re suddenly sharing 400 square feet with 10 other people, working 15 hours per day, and waking up in a new city every morning. And you’re figuring out this new existence on the fly. And it’s your dream come true.

Watching the water

Since the spill, organizations across the Four Corners, including Fort Lewis College, have been stepping up efforts to study and monitor the Animas and other area water sources.
