Fort Lewis College is taking a bold step forward—and all aspiring teachers can join the adventure. Applications are now open for FLC’s new Master of Arts in Education: Teacher Licensure program. The two-year program enables participants to earn a master’s degree in education, as well as a Colorado teaching certificate.

Now in its second year, the Hawk Tank Business Plan Competition gives aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to create a business plan under the mentorship of successful business experts from our area.

New classes for traditional Mexican Folklorico dances begin Monday, Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m., and enrollment is open to anyone interested.

Durango contains an economic ecosystem as rich as its natural setting. Here, Fort Lewis College students can experience working with nationally competitive companies while staying close to home. One such company is Vantiv Integrated Payments, which offers paid internships during the summer months to students from the School of Business Administration.

Charles Riggs, professor of Anthropology, has been appointed as the College’s Curator of Archaeological Collections.

The Forum offers experts in business and the economy who will present their views on the current status of the economy and what the future might hold for the Four Corners region, Colorado and the nation.

On a snowy December morning, more than 200 students graduated from Fort Lewis College and participated in a Commencement ceremony in Whalen Gymnasium. The graduates were encouraged by Commencement Speaker Leslie Goldstein, winner of the Alice Admire Outstanding Teaching Award. Congratulations to all graduates and their families!
