All degree and certificate-seeking students must Apply for Graduation in to receive your diploma and attend commencement. Apply when you register for your final semester.
Complete the Application for Graduation by the priority deadlines below. This way, the Registrar’s Office can tell you about any missing requirements before the Census Date of your final semester. You can apply to graduate anytime during the semester, but don’t wait too long!
Delaying your application could mean missing graduation events or having your name in the commencement program. Plus, you may not get the right cap and gown size.
To get your name in the printed commencement program, submit your application by early November for Fall or early April for Spring. It must be approved before your name is included. Spring and summer graduates usually attend Spring Commencement. There is no ceremony in the summer. &Բ;
Graduation is the completion of all degree requirements, verified by the Registrar after final grades are posted. Diplomas are issued through Parchment approximately 8 weeks after the term ends.

Commencement is a ceremony held in December for fall graduates and late April/early May for spring and summer graduates. Participants wear regalia, walk the stage, and celebrate with family and friends.

Complete the following tasks to successfully complete your program of study at FLC!
Before you apply to graduate, make sure your record is accurate in Workday. To add or drop majors, minors, concentrations, or certificates, or to change catalog years, fill out a Program Changes Form. You can submit this form in the Student Resource Center. You can make changes after you apply. However, this might alter the results of your Application to Graduate.

Your Academic Progress Report is available to you any time in . You can access it by vising your Academics app or by going to your profile.
Log in to . Select the Academics from ٳ "Your Top Apps" on the right side of the page or from the "Menu" at the top left corner of the page. &Բ;
Under the Academic Advising & Planning header, select "View My Academic Progress Report" and click "OK."
Log in to . Click&Բ;dzܰ Profile iDz at the top right of the page and then select View Profile.
Navigate to the Academics in the menu on the left side of the page. &Բ;
Select the Academic Progress tab to view your APR.
The top of the report will indicate some general information about your record:
Your declared program(s) of study
Your cumulative GPA
Unused registrations (courses that do not apply to any of your requirements)
Your overall academic progress (total credits needed for graduation)
If you are pursuing more than one program of study, each will have its own section. &Բ;
The top of each section represents each program of study you have declared. For each program of study you have declared, the APR will show you:
Your major GPA
The effective date of your degree requirements (catalog year)
When your APR was last evaluated
The second table will detail out your academic progress. For undergraduates, you will see major and Liberal Arts Core requirements.
First column lists all your program requirements (including exceptions or overrides)
The second column will show if you have met that requirement or not. It will read "satisfied," "not satisfied," "waived," or "in progress."
The third column will read with what is needed to complete the requirement if it is not "satisfied."
The fourth column will show how the requirement is met or what’s been done so far if you’re still taking courses.

Register as early as possible for your final semester of classes. You must be registered for your final semester of classes at 鶹Ѹשto Apply for Graduation. If you plan to walk at Spring Commencement but are graduating in the summer, apply for graduation when you register for Spring. Even if summer registration isn’t open yet, we still recommend applying as soon as possible.
Review the Registration Checklist
Verify that your program(s) of study, Academic Progress Report (APR), and final semester registration are correct before applying for graduation. When you are ready, complete the online form:
Log in to Workday.
Select the Academics app from either "Your Top Apps" on the right side of the page or from the MENU at the top left corner of the page. &Բ;
Under the Requests header, select "Apply for Graduation."
The top of the form will auto-populate with your name, email, ID, and active programs of study.
Please complete the rest of the application. Include your graduation term, commencement details, diploma record, and post-graduation plans.
All updates on your application status will go to your 鶹Ѹשemail. They'll come from the Registrar’s Office at gradcheck@fortlewis.edu. Your Application for Graduation will be either approved or stay pending. If it's pending, the email will explain the missing requirements.
If you resolve your missing requirements, your application will be re-evaluated for approval.
Diplomas are sent about 8 weeks after your last semester. They go to your Primary Home Address listed in Workday. You will be notified via text and email when your digital diploma is ready to view prior to mailing it to you. To check or change your home contact info for notifications, follow these steps:
Log in to .
Click your Profile icon at the top right of the page and then select View Profile.
Select the "Actions" button on the left of your profile under your name.
Hover DZ Personal Data and select "Change My Home Contact Information."
Verify the address, phone, and email on record and ensure they are set as Primary.
Select the pencil icon to edit information in any section, and&Բ; Submit.
Once you apply to graduate, you can no longer register for classes after your chosen graduation term. You will need to notify the Registrar's Office at gradcheck@fortlewis.edu if you want to:
Need to register for a future term to meet degree requirements and need your expected completion date adjusted
Want to take classes after graduation as a non-degree student for personal growth or career development
To take classes after graduation as a degree-seeking student, you need to re-apply with the Admission Office. This is necessary if you want to earn another degree or certificate. If you have questions about this process, please contact admission@fortlewis.edu or 970-247-7184. &Բ;
To request an exception, fill out the Individual Exception to Graduation Request Form. You can submit this form at the Student Resource Center for a course substitution or waiver.
The fee includes your graduation regalia, diploma, and related costs, and applies even if you do not attend Commencement. Undergraduate students pay the graduation fee with their first-semester fees. Graduate students are charged an $80 fee in their final semester.
