Dr. Kaitlin Mattos, Assistant Professor, Environment and Sustainability, received $5,000 from The Southwestern Water Conservation District for the “Tribal Water Media Fellowship project.”

Beth LaShell, Director, and Elicia Whittlesey, Farmer Training Program Coordinator, The Old Fort at Hesperus, received $215,000 from the Community Foundation on behalf of the Social Impact Grant from La Plata County for the “construction of a winterized Community Vegetable Processing Barn on the Old Fort Campus.”

Dr. David Blake, Associate Professor, Biology, received $156,000 from the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation for the “2023 Beckman Scholars Program.”

Dr. Kristine Greer, Associate Provost, Academic Affairs, received $25,000 from the US Department of Health and Human Services through the Colorado Department of Early Childhood for the “Elevating the Early Childhood Workforce: Plans, Qualifications, & Pathways.”

Jennifer Rider, Director, Center for Teaching & Learning, received $973,560 from the US Department of Education for the “Digital Learning: A Pathway to Equity, Access and Success for Low-income, First-generation, and Indigenous Students project.”

Beth LaShell, Director, The Old Fort at Hesperus, received $157,140 from the Department of Higher Education, History Colorado, the Colorado Historical Society to “complete remaining interior work and window restoration of Faculty House #15 in Hesperus, Colorado at the Old Fort.”

Mary Shepherd, Director, Small Business Development Center, received $100,000 from the US Small Business Administration through the Colorado Department of Economic Development and International Trade (COEDIT) to fund SBDC activities in 2023.
