Looking toward right abutment from axis sta. 0+00. (Photographic Point No. 3). The three zones of Earth embankment are clearly defined by the different shades of material. Beginning with the dividing the light and dark material in the center of dam, to the right is the upstream (or mixed) No. 2 section grading into the No. 1; to the left Is the downstream (clay) No. 2 section grading into the No. 3 section where the roller is seen working at left.
