Begin your research journey by discovering your interests and connecting with mentors.

  • Talk to faculty in your department to learn what research looks like in your field.
  • Connect with a mentor—reach out to professors whose topics inspire you.
  • Attend UGR events like the Speaker Series, Fall Poster Symposium, and Spring Symposium & Awards Gala.

Find the right opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build your resume.

  • Look into research options during the academic year or summer.
  • Explore paid summer opportunities, especially in biomedical fields.
